Black history is about more than just the civil rights movement. It is also about the contributions of Black people and societies to culture, academia, and thought.

One site of constant erasure of the contribution of Black people is in math and science. Too often, we are taught the histories of white mathematicians and scientists while completely ignoring the role of of Black people and societies throughout history (and the present!).

2. Yes, Mathematics Can Be Decolonised; Here’s How to Begin by Karin Brodie.
